Summer Vacation 07 - Redang Island, July 15-

We woke up in the early morning and get ready for snorkeling. After we done our breakfast, we all put on our life jacket and goggles, and ready for snorkeling. Before we departed to the Marine Park, we had a 30mins orientation in front of the Laguna Jetty.

We didn't take much pictures during snorkeling session, because I did not bring my camera along. Most of the pictures below were taken by my friend:

We were heading to Marine Park for snorkeling. We took those pictures on the boat:

For those who does not know what is snorkeling? Here I got some information from the Google that can help you know more about snorkeling:

Snorkeling is the practice of swimming at the surface of a body of water while equipped with a diving mask, a shaped tube called a snorkel, and usually swim fins. In cooler waters, a wetsuit may also be worn. Combining these tools allows the snorkeler to observe underwater attractions for extended periods of time with relatively little effort.

Snorkeling is a popular recreational activity, particularly at tropical resort destinations and many places recreational scuba divers venture. Snorkeling is also employed by scuba divers when near the surface, and search and rescue teams may snorkel as part of a water-based search.

The primary attraction of snorkeling is the opportunity to observe underwater life in a natural setting. This may include coral reefs and their denizens, such as fish, starfish, sea urchins. Snorkeling in sandy areas may allow sighting of rays and various flatfish. Other organisms that can be seen while snorkeling include various forms of seaweed, jellyfish, sea turtles, and occasionally anything else which may be found in the ocean. Many of the organisms found in reef locations are vibrantly colored and very abundant, making for an engrossing experience.

That was my first time to experience snorkeling, I was scared and I'm not a swimmer too. However, I really want to take that opportunity to observe underwater life in a natural setting. So i decided to give it a try and I found that it was awesome!!! I can not believe my eyes because i can so close to the fishes, and even i can touched the corals. It was amazing!! It was a wonderful experience. That is my first time and it won't be my last time!!!

HooiSin took those pictures for me:

There was a small incident happened that day. As we met a high tide so we had to head back to Redang Island earlier. It was scary because the high tide almost covered our boat. We were so lucky and arrived with safety at Laguna Jetty. Due to the high tide we canceled all the activities at seaside. This is the imperfect part in that trip.

We had plenty of time left because all the activities were canceled. After done with our shower, we started to walked around and shot around. Here are some pictures we took at the Laguna beach:

At the high tide the sea covers the rocks, but at low it uncover them.

The weather at Redang was steadily keep at 30c. Compared the weather there to Michigan, the weather there really drove me crazy. It was so humid and hot at Redang Island. Can you imagined the ice-cream was melted in two minutes after took it out from the freezer. Can you tell how was the weather there.

Hooi Sin took those pictures for me:

Romantic time -- Eddie and Kim-- I took it for fun!!
Later of the night, we went to Laguna pub. Eddie was so nice, he bought us drink at the Laguna pub.

Hooi Sin always the most excited one, because she doesn't have much chances to visit pub.

Sorry Kim, i know you looked funny but i have to post it.
Poor kid. They were so tired but their parent want to join us to have fun, and can't leave them unattended, so end up they all fell sleep at the pub. It was fun though.

We all looked drunk, actually we didn't drink much and never got drunk. I took some pictures from Laguna Pub
